Day 87: Donohue Pass

"These bugs don't take me seriously.  But I''m serous." - Fey

Adam has started calling me the mosquito sheriff, due to my new shades (4th pair, baby!  Just call me the sunglasses destroyer.) and my pure hatred for these blood-sucking demons.  I don't even recognize myself anymore as I threaten to kill their families and contemplate letting them suffer when I only half smash them.  In the tent at night there are usually about 30 that make their way in as we quickly unzip and throw all of our stuff and bodies inside, and Genie says I look like a cat as I frantically bat at them cursing their existence.

Anywho, F 'em because we STILL hiked 17 miles today with 4,000 feet of climbing and are well on our way to a mini stop, Tuolumne Meadows, where we will get our resupply boxes in the morning.  We have also rejoined with Woodstock and Jetpack.  Unfortunately, Jetpack is under the weather with chills and aches and no energy.  While I feel bad for her, Team A's loss is Team B's gain, and it's great to have her back even if only temporarily.  Rumor has it that Dayhike, Animal, Spearhead, and Capi walked an additional ELEVEN miles to get to Tuolumne tonight, and I ain't about that life.

xoxo,
The Mosquito Sheriff
