Mile 1494 to 1499
Nero day! We’ve been looking forward to this for quite some time. A little rest, a little soap and a little food goes a long way after some days on the trail. We slept on a small dirt mound on a switchback of a logging road. This logging road, we discovered around 4AM, is still used for logging! We had trucks climb past us every half hour or so until the sun (peeking out from clouds for the first time in weeks!), reminded us that it was time to start moving.
It was a quick jaunt down to I-5, where we were greeted with coconut water left by a trail angel and a hitch that pulled by the instant we hit the road. What timing!
