Day 141: HuffPo

Mile 1867 to mile 16 of the Oregon Skyline Trail Alternate

This was a boring day for me, but you know who it wasn’t boring for? My dear partner, Fey.  In case you weren’t aware, she is the co-founder and editor of Catalyst Wedding Magazine.  Take a peek at Catalystwedco.com.

After a half mile off trail jaunt to find a nasty pool of water filtering through a couple feet of grass and now “crystal clear” and called a “spring”, I nabbed some cell service and saw the good ole Facebook blowing up with a blog post written by that crafty wife of mine.  She was crazy excited about the response she was getting and said, “I shall get no work done today!” Because there was so much attention.

Blah blah blah, I hiked.  Saw some people.  Swam in a lake.  OK.  I find the smallest shred of service toward the end of the day to find out she has been made a contributor to Huffington Post and that they have published her article!  How cool!

So I start scrolling through the app, expecting to find her article in the “lifestyle” section, but what the heck, live a little and scroll the front page.  Oh yes, yes indeed, front page material is “White Privilege and Inclusion in the Wedding Industry.”  Again, the magazine can be bought at Catalystwedco.com.

Service was lost by the time I sent a text to her, “FRONT PAGE? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!?” But she knows how proud I am of her:)

It was a hard decision for her to directly prioritize Catalyst over the hike, but I think there is no question she is doing what she is meant to do. Congrats to our sweet Fey, keep up the amazing work!

And if you haven’t seen the magazine, grab one from your nearest Barnes and Noble, or at Catalystwedco.com
